Things like this are what I shoot during the ever so awesome Naptime :) where’s there’s those precious minutes, an hour if I’m lucky, to play around with lighting. Shot with the Canon 5D III @ 1/200, f/8, ISO 100, 3 600ex-rt Speedlites. Left light gelled with green and the right blue. while the rear was bare.

Two wild fox kits in the tall grass. I photographed these kits near their den, which I revisited often as they grew up. The den was in a lush field of wild grasses, most of the time you only know that they are there by the rustling sounds!

This photo of my sister-in-law was taken with my Canon Rebel Xsi at f 2.0, ISO 200 and a shutter speed of 1/160. I used my Canon 85mm 1.8 lens. I plan a photo shoot with my sister-in-law at least once a year, and for this shoot we chose a bohemian theme.

One of my favorite persons to shoot. At first I didn’t think I had an entry but then I remembered this photo I recently took. Yeah it’s a simple shot, green grass, a fence and well…. a beautiful girl.

This photo was taken this just this summer at a local park. It was a family session with some friends. This session was blast, we had a great time and got a lot of great moments, this is just one that I felt fit this category best.

Quick back story. The little girl’s mom had promised her if she was good and gave me lots of smiles she’d get this new doll. She did a great job and got her prize, as she was enjoying her new toy I was able to capture her excitement, that I feel, really showed how much she wanted that new doll. Since the doll had to get it’s picture taken as well we were able to capture this and it was probably one of the best images we capture that day.

Shot with Nikon D5100, and available light. I did have a flash however it wasn’t place appropriately to really give her much illumination, and since this was more of a candid image it really didn’t need anything extra, her smile brightens the image up more than enough.

    Thanks..

Holy Smokes, Batman! It’s the Riddler!
Actually, this was one of the most amazing shoots that I had the pleasure to do. It was a Cosplay shoot in the tunnels of underground Cincinnati. I used minimal equipment, since I had to walk quite a bit from location to location. Lighting was a flashgun on a lightstand with a softbox for the main light, then a gelled green flash in the backgroud with a rogue bender to spread the light.

This image started shot on a grey background. It felt a bit boring and mostly cause the background was to plain, I tried a few overlay textures and didn’t like the outcome. So I just went with a ivy wall. Hard part was getting the leaves all to be the same color tone.

This tree is a beast. It’s called the Angel Oak Tree and it is estimated to be in excess of 400-500 years old, stands 66.5 ft tall, measures 28 ft in circumference, and produces shade that covers 17,200 square feet.

Angel Tree and it’s one of the oldest living trees in the United States. Its foliage is so dense and its branches so thick that I had to set up 2 speedlights in different locations beneath the tree to brighten up the trunk and underbrush. I took multiple shots from a locked down location and then removed the speedlights (and some tourists) in photoshop. If you notice there is a small young lady in the shot, giving you an idea of the proportions of this majestic tree.

I never felt smaller… in all my life.

“It’s not easy being green,” said my model who I dressed up as a forest nymph! Shot in studio, with actual green lipstick, enhanced a bit in photoshop.

Long exposure fireworks photograph, using a refocus technique during the exposure. Started out of focus, and when I heard the explosions, I refocused the lens!
